THE BEACHES OF NAXOS

AGIOS GEÓRGIOS (Chora)
It is among the best equipped with long rows of umbrellas and restaurants overlooking the beach.
Thanks to the shelter of the bay, the sea here is always calm, the waters are shallow and the long beach is made of fine sand is ideal for children.
AGIOS PROKÓPIOS
AGIA ANNA
Beach with very fine sand and transparent sea, characterized by sections equipped with umbrellas and deckchairs alternated with areas of free beach; from the characteristic marina small and medium-sized boats depart to visit the nearby islands.From the small port, walking along the beach you arrive at the small promontory of Agia Anna, with its small white church at the tip surrounded by green cedar groves.

It is located between the nearby beaches of Agios Prokopios and Plaka, which can be easily reached on foot in a few minutes.
MARAGAS

PLAKA
Very long, with well-equipped spots and other solitary ones, typical taverns and bars with wonderful views of the sea, Plaka beach is famous both for its very fine white sand and for the sea from the spectacular shades of blue it has an intense blue, so much for it splendid dunes that meet in its final part, more wild and uncontaminated.
In this long stretch of beach, even in high season, those who love greater tranquility can find uncrowded areas.
Like Agios Prokopios and Agia Anna, Plaka is also a particularly special beach suitable for children and offers equipped beach areas and other free ones to satisfy everyone's needs.
ORKÓS
Orkos beach is located between Plaka and Mikri Vigla beaches; the ideal weather conditions for the windsurf and the kitesurf have made it famous among lovers of these sports from all over Europe.
In addition to the main beach, there is a succession of small beaches and coves of notable beauty that are more sheltered from the wind.
MIKRÍ VIGLA
After Orkos, separated by a rocky promontory called Mikri Vigla, here begins the beach of the same name with white sand and crystal clear sea. The first stretch, at the foot of the promontory, repaired therefore by winds and currents, it is very reminiscent of the landscapes of our Sardinia.
On this beach you will have the possibility to rent umbrellas and deckchairs, but a word of advice... arrive early because places are few and fill up quickly!
On the beach there is a tavern/bar.
MORE SOUTHERN
With KASTRÁKI begins a sequence of solitary coves where you can relax lulled only by the sound of the sea waves as well as the beach of PYRGÁKI, surrounded by dunes and cedars, is an ideal destination for those seeking peace and relaxation.
The beach of ALIKÓ you can reach it on foot after leaving the car in a small car park, through a wooded stretch, until you reach a enchanting viewpoint … the sea takes over here polychrome shades, ranging from turquoise to intense blue, the water is of unparalleled clarity, the landscape truly splendid and wild.
FURTHER BEACHES
As for the other more distant beaches, they are worth mentioning in the north/west they are Amitis, the pretty little bay of Abram and Apollonas (approx. 43 km. from Chora)
On the east coast, Lionas, very charming village and beach famous for its colorful pebbles and Moutsouna, excellent fish offered in its taverns overlooking the marina.
To the south, the beautiful and sheltered bays of Panormos and Kalandos.
